Lunch had been an anxious time for Sechs. He paced about the Sun Room, not having the stomach to eat his food as he fretted over his message to Aigis. He hadn't seen her around and from he got from her, she was still sick. He had to get the cure to her before she transformed or worse...! Yet the nurses wouldn't let him go near the Greenhouse, they still hadn't forgotten his tirade there the day before.
Yet relief came from the most unlikely source: Landel's announcement for the fourth shift.
"HAH! Hear that?!" Sechs crowed as a nurse escorted him outside, "Now you HAVE to let me into the greenhouse!"
"Alright, Cody..." the nurse sighed as they trumped through the pelting rain. "But you best behave and not get over excited. They're just plants. You either enjoy looking at them or you take care of them. That is all."
Sechs sneered and brutishly swung the glass door open. "Heh! Sure!"
Leaving the wary nurse behind, Sechs shook the rain off his whole body like a great big dog. Once dry, he lifted his head and scanned the area like an animal on the hunt. He could never forget what that special flower looked like; the glowing image of it being presented by that strange Baptist in the forest would forever be burned into his brain chip.
Yellow flower... Five petals... Yellow flower... Five petals...
With that description running through his mind like some feverish mantra, Sechs stomped his way past the tables of plants, his wolfish eyes searching hungrily for his target. He spotted one area of the nursery that seemed more populated by patients than anywhere else. He picked up his pace towards the small commotion, and there he found his Holy Grail of flowers.
Pushing and shoving his way until he was close enough to reach for one of the brightly colored plants, Sechs paused for a moment to scan the area for any staff looking in his general direction. When the coast seemed clear, Sechs grabbed a single flower, tearing it out of the soil before messily shoving the whole thing into his pocket. Grinning roguishly to himself, Sechs shuffled away from the scene of the crime. Victory! Now if he could just wipe the dirt off his pants without any nurses noticing and get out of the place scot-free...
