Day 68: Greenhouse
By the time lunch ended, the gloomy weather had become a raging storm. Soushi held his coat tightly as they were separated once again, and followed his guide to the outdoor greenhouse. Luckily, the temperature changed and balanced out nicely once they were inside and he shook himself free of the coat.
The greenery was a welcome change, but it was hard to appreciate it when every passing moment only filled him with more worry. While he had obtained a great deal more information today than in his first day in the institution, he was still no closer to finding Ririchiyo or a means of escape. There was a dull ache in his chest that had nothing to do with any physical ailment and everything to do with her absence.
An audible sigh escaped his lips as he picked up a small trowel and gloves and took to the nearby plants, attempting to distract himself and failing miserably.

Unlike most he had learned later about the flower and with the weather as it was, this flower might not have even been there anymore. Things like that needed sunlight, didn't they? Flowers weren't something he was familiar with. He'd picked some as a kid, but that was all.
Are patients even allowed to pick these things...? he wondered absently as he caught sight of a patient using some tool on a flower bed. He noted the small shovel and was about to look for one he could use when the patient spoke to him. Looking back, he returned the smile with the same annoyed expression, sighing out a, "Not sure," as he looked around again.

"If you tell me what it looks like, I might be of some help," he offered, as it appeared to be the only polite thing to do. He smiled in his friendliest manner.
"I'm Miketsukami Soushi. It's a pleasure to meet you."

He put his attention on the man again, noting how he didn't look familiar and might have been new. The ninja would have remembered someone with such a similar smile to someone else he knew. The unmatched eyes wouldn't have been easily forgotten either. "All I know is it's yellow. Flowers aren't my thing."

"St. John's wort?" He'd had suspicions about what the man might be looking for, especially given that more than a couple of people had mentioned an item that could be found in the greenhouse, one that seemed necessary for some of the ill patients.
"I've heard it makes an excellent medicine, but I imagine it's in high demand. If there isn't any here, I heard there's some beyond the walls of this place."
